I’ve been on a bit of a puppy chow kick lately. After making my go-to classic puppy chow and then turning some of it into chocolatey brownies, the idea occurred to me: why not swap peanut butter for Biscoff spread? I had to test it right away.
The result was irresistible. The warm, caramel-cinnamon flavor of Biscoff pairs beautifully with chocolate and powdered sugar, while the Chex cereal keeps that familiar crunchy texture. I couldn’t stop snacking on it while taking photos, so I brought the rest to my new coworkers at Hallmark and they gladly helped me finish the batch.
Below is the recipe so you can try this tasty twist on puppy chow yourself.

Biscoff elevates classic puppy chow with its warm cookie-cinnamon flavor.
Ingredients
- 9 cups corn, rice, or wheat Chex cereal (or a combination)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Biscoff creamy spread
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
-
In a 1‑quart microwavable bowl, microwave the chocolate chips, Biscoff spread, and butter uncovered on High for 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer, or until the mixture is smooth when stirred. Stir in vanilla if using. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and stir gently until the cereal is evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to a 2‑gallon resealable plastic bag.
-
Add the powdered sugar to the bag, seal it, and shake until the cereal is well coated. Store in an airtight container or bag; refrigerate if you prefer it chilled.
Notes
This treat is for humans only. Chocolate is toxic to dogs—keep it away from pets.
