Every blog has to start somewhere. What better day to publish my first post than on a day that only comes once every four years — Leap Day?

Hello and welcome! I’m Joanna Smith, creator of Fed and Fulfilled. To anyone who has found this little corner of the web, thank you for visiting. As a new blogger, I honestly pictured only friends and family reading this, but I’m excited to share my gluten-free, mostly paleo recipes and the stories behind them. I hope they’ll be both approachable and memorable.

I decided to start Fed and Fulfilled as a New Year’s resolution. The idea began as a whim but became real after talking it over with my husband, Mark. I’m the cautious type, so launching a food blog felt like a risk — especially since I didn’t know the technical side of blogging. Still, I’ve always loved looking at other people’s food photos and recipes, and I wanted to try creating my own content and sharing the recipes I’ve developed over the years.

Over the past five years I’ve faced health challenges and dietary changes that influenced my cooking. Through that journey I adapted recipes I loved and developed new ones that fit the way I eat. Cooking and entertaining have always brought me joy, and this blog feels like a natural extension of that—a place to share recipes, tips, and the personal story behind them. If this grows beyond a hobby, it might become the perfect fit for me professionally as well.

I’ll be sharing recipes soon and plan to write about my health journey, beliefs, and how I create dishes that are both satisfying and mindful of dietary needs.
