With Halloween just around the corner, we’re ramping up the festivities with a string of seasonal features. Kicking things off is a Bewitching Dessert Table, graciously shared by Paula of Frog Prince Paperie. The centerpiece is a striking modern Halloween cake: a two-tiered confection with an orange harlequin pattern and a crisp black-and-white witch silhouette. The dramatic contrast and the shadowy background give the cake a cinematic feel—picture the witch flying across a moonlit sky and you’ll sense the playful, spooky mood.

Paula shared a few details about the dessert table and the cake:
For our Bewitching Party, I was fortunate to work with Andrea from Contemporary Cakery in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s always inspiring to provide graphics and watch another artist bring them to life. Andrea dreamed up a variety of witchy desserts for our table.
The two-tiered cake perfectly reflected the party aesthetic—the orange harlequin pattern paired with the framed witch silhouette was simply stunning. The black-and-white frame made the design pop.

More from Paula about the dessert selection:
On the main dessert table, Andrea created tiny chocolate-chip pumpkin cakes shaped like pumpkins and finished with vanilla cream-cheese frosting and fondant. Their little faces were irresistible. She also put a twist on traditional red velvet with black velvet whoopie pies topped with sugared bats. The kids’ favorites were the spider pops—playful and slightly spooky, they appealed to both little and big trick-or-treaters.

This dessert display is captivating—modern, preppy, and wickedly fun all at once. The cake’s bold graphics and refined color palette make it a memorable focal point for any Halloween celebration. It’s the kind of design that sticks in your head and makes you smile (and maybe hum a witchy tune).
A special thanks to Paula of Frog Prince Paperie for sharing this Bewitching Halloween Dessert Table, and to Contemporary Cakery for the imaginative cake design.
