Tropical Energy Bites

My toddler loves energy bites because they taste great, and I love how quick and easy they are to make. When I discovered Barlean’s Omega Pals, I knew their tangerine flavor would be perfect for a tropical twist on my usual recipe.

These Tropical Energy Bites use a classic no-bake base — oats, dates, and cashews — with unsweetened coconut flakes and Tangerine Omega Pals blended in for bright flavor and a boost of Omega-3s.

What is Barlean’s Omega Pals? And why Omega-3’s matter

Barlean’s Omega Pals are a kid-friendly, naturally derived Omega-3 supplement with a sweet taste and creamy texture that many children enjoy more than traditional fish oil. Omega-3 fatty acids support brain development and eye health and play a role in building new cells as children grow.

How to make Tropical Energy Bites

These energy bites are made from pantry staples. For the base you’ll need oats (quick or old fashioned both work), raw cashews, and pitted dates. Add unsweetened coconut flakes and Barlean’s Tangerine Omega Pals for the tropical flavor.

Add oats, cashews, dates, coconut flakes, and Tangerine Omega Pals to a food processor. Process until everything is finely chopped and begins to stick together to form a cohesive mixture.

Scoop the mixture with a tablespoon, press it into your palm and roll into balls. Place each energy bite in a container and continue until all the mixture is rolled. Store the bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

One serving is roughly 2.5 energy bites, which makes them convenient for lunch boxes or an afternoon snack.
